Brijesh Damani Stuns Pankaj Advani in Asian Billiards Selection Camp

Whiile Pankaj Advani recovered to win his second match against Jaiveer Dhingra 3-1, Brijesh Damani was outplayed by Mumbai cueist Dhruv Sitwala in his second fixture 1-3.

Bengaluru: Kolkata cueist Brijesh Damani stunned world and national champion Pankaj Advani in the opening game of the selection camp trials for the Asian Billiards Championship, here on Tuesday.

Whiile Advani recovered to win his second match against Jaiveer Dhingra 3-1, Damani was outplayed by Mumbai cueist Dhruv Sitwala in his second fixture 1-3.

The eight players attending the camp (February 3-5) are involved in a league to decide the Indian contingent for the Asian Championships. The snooker trials will start February 7.

Results (league): Brijesh Damani bt Pankaj Advani 3-2; Balachandra Bhaskar bt Dhvaj Haria 3-0; Rupesh Shah bt Siddharth Parikh 3-1; Dhruv Sitwala bt Damani 3-1; Parikh bt Haria 3-0; Advani bt Jaiveer Dhingra 3-1; Bhaskar bt Shah 3-2.
