O wandering heart, how you've stumbled through fields and folly to reach Shift, a dedication of a slightly different sort to the antisocial antihero of Final Fantasy VIII: Squall Leonhart. Beckoning you forward with the illustrious words of Robert Frost's poem Once by the Pacific, Shift will take you into the heart of our leading man—an icy, slippery journey though it may be—to discover the complexity his abrasive mannerisms mean to hide. We'll look past his outward appearance in an attempt to understand the soul beneath; let us rip away the façade and stare his inner shadow in the eyes, as a lion to his reflection in a clear, starlit pond.
