In September 2015 we published our new ten-year strategy, Making Great Art Work, in which we set out how we will lead the development of the arts in Ireland over the next decade. Our strategy has five priority areas:
- The Artist;
- Public Engagement;
- Investment Strategy;
- Spatial and Demographic Planning;
- Developing Capacity.

At the heart of our strategy is a vision for the arts in Ireland grounded in a sense of people and place, where the arts are truly valued as a vital feature of our daily lives and where ambitious and innovative artists are supported to make work of excellence.
Making Great Art Work is a strategy of change and renewal. To realise our vision, we recognise we will have to do things differently. We also will work with and support our partners, artists and arts organisations to achieve change
Making Great Art Work will be implemented through three three-year plans starting in 2017. To support the publication of the strategy and to inform the preparation of the first three-year plan (2017–2019), we held a series of Strategy Forums around the country, conducting direct dialogue meetings by invitation and hosted an online forum.
The results of the Strategy Forums will be collated and will help us as we develop the first three-year plan (2017-2019).
