We’ve definitely had our fair share of memorable test drives here at Made Man.

But there hasn’t been one more serene than our recent getaway to Kona, Hawaii to experience the 2016 Porsche Boxster Spyder.

In fact, it very well could be one of our most breathtaking drives to date, which led us to dig up a few of our favorite quotes when collecting our thoughts on the new roadster.

1

“We all have within us a center of stillness surrounded by silence.” —Dag Hammarskjold
Powerful take: While still true to the car’s rich lineage, the new Boxster Spyder is far more striking than the previous model. Credit a lot of that appeal to features like the unique streamliners and other design cues inspired by great Porsche roadsters of the ’60s.

2

“He who would be serene and pure needs but one thing, detachment.”Meister Eckhart
Powerful take: Equipped with a 375-horsepower six-cylinder engine, the new Boxster Spyder suffers no shortage of power. The 2016 model actually ranks as the most powerful Boxster ever built, with an exhaust note to match.

3

“Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.” —Gautama Buddha
Powerful take: Among all the new features on the 2016 Porsche Boxster Spyder, one of the most alluring is the new optional Spyder Classic package. Created exclusively for the top model Boxster, it is accented by Garnet Red leather on the seats and instrument panel along with elegant interior trim strips.

4

“Serenity is not freedom from the storm, but peace amid the storm.” —Al Anon
Powerful take: The Boxster Spyder has a 0 to 60 mph time of 4.3 seconds and a top track speed of 180 mph. The roadster’s handling and cornering capabilities, however, are even more addictive than its speed.

5

“Paradise is where I am.” —François-Marie Arouet
Powerful take: The more seat time you get with this ride, the more addictive the roadster becomes as a driver and as a passenger. But make no mistake about it, this is a driver’s car in every sense of the word.

6

“Silence is the element in which great things fashion themselves together.” —Thomas Carlyle
Powerful take: The new Boxster Spyder still features a manual soft top. But the 2016 model only requires six steps as opposed to the 15 of the previous edition, making it a lot easier to go topless when the mood calls for the shift.

“A smile is the beginning of peace.” —Mother Teresa
Powerful take: Despite its rather understated demeanor, this car takes on a number of different forms depending on the color and optional features like the Satin Black wheels. As far as we can tell, however, every incarnation is alluring as the next. Photos courtesy of Porsche.
