Released from its functional constraints Sieve, or points of decision in redistribution sits in the octagonal volume of the ballroom in dual play with its octagonal sky light and the oval stairs suspended over the entrance. Further points of direction and reception are found on site as the piece distributes itself into this porous environment, the room itself being in a unique moment of undress. A process of propagation, stitched into the work in the action of circular details, allows the piece to claim space, to extend itself beyond its assumed boundaries.
