Pakistan Prime Minister Upgrades Probe Into Panama Papers Affair

Premier calls for a commission of inquiry made up of sitting judges, instead of retired

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—Pressure is mounting on the prime minister here in the wake of the Panama Papers leak, pushing the country toward a political crisis that could distract the government from its fight against terrorism.

Bowing to opposition demands, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday said in a televised address that he would ask the Supreme Court to put together a commission of sitting judges to investigate his assets.
