Eurovision 2016: First live TV performances for Serhat, Ira and Nina Kraljić

Most of the entries for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest were selected internally, what means they weren’t performed live on a proper stage in some sort of a national final. Thanks to their promo tours, we can now finally watch a live performance of the entries from San Marino, Malta and Croatia

Serhat of San Marino had performed I didn’t know live on Bravo Roula on Epsilon TV in Greece, as part of the promo tour which is running around the Balkans. He was accompanied by five backing female dancers.

Ira Losco from Malta went all the way to the Czech Republic in order to perform Walk on water as part of the show Pomozte Dětem 2016, which is a project by the NROS organisation and ČT for helping children with special needs. Although standing alone on the stage, Ira could clearly show us her vocal abilities during the performance.

Nina Kraljić did not go abroad but performed Lighthouse as a guest in the second season of The Voice, that she herself won in the previous season. Although performing the song already in one of Serbia’s morning shows during her promo visit, this is the first performance on a big stage and backing vocals can also be heard.

It is not sure whether we will see these performances on the stage in Stockholm, but they might give us a hint about the countries’ plans for the big show. Last year, Loïc Nottet’s surprising live performance in Belgium’s The Voice duplicated itself to the Eurovision Song Contest which brought Belgium to the fourth final place.
