Creating a world where empathy doesn’t stop at political and geographical borders
Open History Project is a budding global oral history project that aims to create a multilingual database of interviews with historical and eye witnesses in order to preserve contemporary history and share political and social events the way ordinary people lived it. We gather personal experiences worldwide and publish them on our website.
We are creating a network of community builders that actively promote community participation, freedom of speech and opinion, and access to a diversity of views. We want to promote the unheard voices, as well as broaden the range of discussion and present alternative views to social issues.

PERFECT FOR ORGANIZING YOUR COMMUNITY
Open History Project brings together schools, universities, organizations and communities around the world for learning and sharing.
LEARNING THROUGH FIRST HAND EXPERIENCES
Bring language and culture of the world to your classroom.
Open History Project provides intercultural educational opportunities. We developed a interactive workshop for school classes and youth groups to learn about the importance of history and the role of media in covering – or not covering – stories.
Students are introduced to the idea of citizen journalism and get set up with the skills to conduct their own oral history project in their local communities. The workshop encourages active citizen participation and helps to document local knowledge and history.
Let your class get connected to an international network of storyteller!
