EXCLUSIVE: The Blumhouse.com Podcast Network is coming, and there’s nowhere to hide. The 7-month-old consumer-facing site said today that it is launching the venture with Shock Waves, a podcast from the creators and hosts of Killer POV, which concluded its three-year run on the Geek Nation network last week.
The new podcast network also is in development on scripted and nonscripted programs that will launch later this year, Blumhouse.com said.
Shock Waves will cover the horror genre with interviews, news, stories, history, discussions and debates, lists and games, arriving weekly starting May 11. Its ghost hosts will be the Killer POV trio of Rebekah McKendry, Blumhouse.com’s editor in chief and former longtime director of marketing at Fangoria Entertainment; Rob Galluzzo, a FearNet alum and Icons of Fright founder who now is senior editor at Blumhouse.com; and Elric Kane, who produced the web series This Week in Horror and Inside Horror for Stream.tv.

Blumhouse.com launched in October in partnership with horror juggernaut Blumhouse Productions (the Paranormal Activity and Insidious films) and Red Seat Ventures, which works with individuals and brands to build digital businesses. The site continues Blumhouse’s multiplatform expansion that includes a TV unit, book imprint and partnership with digital genre network CryptTV.
I gave up on Killer POV a year or so back on account of McKendry’s shameless name-dropping. Hope she’s reigned that in by now.
