This table details legislation defining minimum purchase and/or consumption age limits for alcoholic beverages in various jurisdictions.

The World Health Organization definitions of on-premise establishments (those permitting alcohol consumption on their premises), and off-premise establishments (those selling alcohol only for consumption away from their premises) are applied.

This table is updated on an ongoing basis as jurisdictions enact or revise their requirements. It was last updated overall in February 2016 with assistance from staff of the Law Library of Congress (Washington, DC).
