Carley Mijovic Re-Signs

The Perth Lynx are happy to announce that Carley Mijovic has re-signed for the 2016/17 WNBL season.

Mijovic was an outstanding part of the exciting Perth Lynx roster which took the league by storm in its first season as a brand new team.

The sharp-shooting forward/centre went from being an impact bench player to a big part of the Lynx starting five, helping the team to its first Grand Final since 1999.

The 21-year-old, who also recently signed with the Kalamunda Eastern Suns in the SBL, is thrilled to be staying in WA.

“We have the opportunity to be a part of something really special here at the Perth Lynx,” said Mijovic.

“A Grand Final is a good achievement, but we need to go that extra step to really be a team that’s remembered in years to come. It’s an exciting time.

“As an individual, it’s a great environment to continue developing my game, which is another reason why I chose to stay.”

Despite her age, Mijovic has already played a staggering 118 WNBL games after beginning her career in 2009 with the Australian Institute of Sport.

In the 2015/16 season, she scored an averaged of 11.6 points per game, draining 43 per cent of attempts from beyond the arc.

After entering the starting group, she went on to score over 15 points in seven of the last nine games of the campaign, with a season-best effort of 34 against South East Queensland.

She also averaged 3.6 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game.

Carley Mijovic joins captain Tessa Lavey and club MVP Sami Whitcomb on the 2016/17 Perth Lynx roster.

The Perth Lynx will make more player announcements soon.
