All you boys out there, if you ever want to know what it takes to be a girl, this video makes for a must watch. ‘Man’s World’, a satire on ‘what if women treated men, the way men treat women’, premiered last night (September 29) on Youtube.
A story about men walking a mile in women’s shoes, and spend few days in their ‘world’, ‘Man’s World’ might look inspired from a Hollywood series in the beginning, but as it progresses the web movie gains a novelty of a different kind. The difference comes from the treatment of the script and the most appropriate Indian setting – the husband will nag, the ‘inertia’ of a human body might make a man fall on you and you’ll be extra-annoyed at ‘that time of the month’.
The first episode of the series is effective and, unlike most others, doesn’t preach on ‘Feminism’. While we are still afraid that it can happen in the coming episodes, the underlying ‘sexism’ is well addressed in at least the first episode. Vikram Gupta’s direction certainly speaks for itself.
The webisode has many moments that make it worth giving a watch, especially the last seen. Painfully tactical, yet subtle and real.

The protagonist Gaurav Pandey, who made his Bollywood debut with last year’s ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’, nails his part as the misogynist male. The supporting cast, including Shruti Seth, Bhumi Pednekar and Cyrus Sahukar among others, is equally effective.
