We have created the world's very first wallet made of memory foam. Which, of course, means it's also the world's softest and most comfortable wallet.
A couple years back, I got so sick of sitting on my uncomfortable leather wallet. I decided to give a minimalist wallet a try. I struggled with the everyday hassle of finding space to put my cards and all my stacks of cash! I laid down on my memory foam pillow one night, thinking about my wallet predicament, when all the sudden, the idea for this wallet came to my mind...literally. Below is a picture of my first prototype (made entirely of real memory foam and fabric). I was so proud of it and showed it all my friends...let's just say they weren't too impressed with my home-ec skills.
Eventually, I was able to acquire some high quality visco-elastic foam from an American manufacturer and began making prototypes with my brother and sister-in-law. Here is an old cell-phone pic of one of the wallets my sister-in-law helped me sew on her home sewing machine:
We continued to experiment and improve on the wallet with each iteration. We had the hardest time figuring out how to finish off the binding.
Ultimately, as interest in the project grew, we knew we would have to partner with a textile manufacturer that could develop the tooling necessary to manufacture wallets made from memory foam. We found a great partner to help us fine-tune every detail of the wallet to exactly how we wanted it. We changed the pocket design to increase functionality.

Ultimately, I wanted a wallet that wasn't a pain to sit on. I couldn't find anything on the market, so I decided to create my own. After doing some research, I learned that memory foam was originally designed by NASA to give the astronauts something comfortable to sit on during launch. We tested over thirty different types of memory foam to try and find the best one for a wallet.
Ultimately, we didn't want a foam that was too soft because it didn't provide enough protection to the contents inside. We didn't want too firm because it wasn't as comfortable. We settled on a great memory foam with a quick bounce back rate. This is what happens to a memory foam wallet when it gets compressed:
The thickness of the foam on our wallet is 1/4" thick. It will compress up to half of it's original thickness when sat on, making it one of the thinnest bi-folds on the market.

Our wallet was not made for the type of person that likes to carry EVERYTHING! (i.e. George Costanza: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoPf98i8A0g). Additionally, our wallet was not made for hipster minimalists that only carry 2 cards and a 5 dollar bill. In a nut shell, the wallet was designed for people that want to carry an average amount of stuff and want to be able to do it comfortably. The Memory Foam Wallet maintains a traditional look with a modern convenience. Our goal all along was to design a wallet that would allow our customers the ability to carry what they wanted in comfort. With the Memory Foam Wallet, we accomplished exactly that!
Because memory foam is such an awesome material, it comes with a cost. We've sourced one of the highest quality memory foam fabrics available to provide the best back pocket wallet experience in the market place.
Additionally, because we're using a top-notch wallet manufacturer we have a relatively high minimum for our initial production run. After meeting our goal, we will use the money to get the necessary tooling made as well as place our minimum order.

I've used mine for 6 months and haven't noticed any stench. However, if the wallet does begin to smell, it is machine washable. Just throw the wallet in the washing machine and let it dry overnight, and it will act and smell just like new! (Please don't try this with your soon-to-be extinct leather wallet)
Memory foam is durable. Our foam is wrapped with a durable spandex that protects the actual foam. After 6 months of heavy use, my Memory Foam Wallet has no rips, tears, snags, or damage of any kind.
Yes! It can get wet and can be safely washed in the washing machine. After air drying, the wallet will be back to normal.
Not right now. We don't have any inventory. If we are able to get funded through this Kickstarter campaign, we intend to sell through a variety of outlets (including online).
