About this project
About the Project
I came up with this idea while watching Retsupurae Kickstarter Nonstarters. I noticed some Kickstarters would offer backer input on the development of the game, or even add characters to the game of the backer's choosing just as rewards for certain pledge levels. With this, I noticed Visual Novels with "hawt annie-mei babez" had a (comparatively) extremely low failure rate on Kickstarter.
So, keeping those in mind, I wondered what kind of Visual Novel backers would create if it was purely composed of their ideas. And, there you have it, "Choose Your Own Visual Novel".
Would it be the same old anime girl archetypes?
Or would it be a bunch of kitchen appliances that are attracted to power tools?
A can opener with a crush on a miter saw? Scandalous!
Or perhaps even more cutting edge ideas? :D

The Process
How does your idea go from pledge to being part of the Visual Novel?
1. Select any pledge level reward besides the "Just Contributing" reward.
2. Write a comment on the Kickstarter page according to the pledge level reward. (If it's a picture, then post a link.)
3. I'll write/draw up your post-it note, and add it to the IDEA WINDOW.
4. Everything on the IDEA WINDOW will be taken into account and interpreted for the Visual Novel.
5. The Visual Novel will be created from the culmination and aggregation of all the post-it notes in TyranoBuilder.

6. I may have tough decisions to make during the process of development, where I have trouble choosing one option over another. To decide these tougher choices, I will cast a vote on StrawPoll.me. (Note: These votes will be open to everyone, with IP duplication checking to enforce 1 vote per.)
Funding
With the cool four-hundred-twenty dollars, I will (1) pay myself.
$420 / $7.65 (min. wage / hour in MO) = ~55
Which gives this project 55 hours, a cool couple weeks of work.
Don't worry though, I'll keep working until the project is finished.
And, in all seriousness, the money will go towards paying for art, writing, and programming, if that was not self-evident.
But... if by some chance it happens...
Stretch Goals
> $1000 < --- Mini-games Guaranteed - I was thinking about adding mini-games just for a little extra fun, but if funding reaches $1000, I will definitely add mini-games to the VN. (Which is possible through TyranoScript, which enables JavaScript to be written into games made in TyranoBuilder.)
> $2000 < --- Improved Art - I will put in some more effort into the art. (Meaning characters like 'Cool Spider'.) And, I'll even take a serious look into getting someone who's better at art, to assist the project.

Risks and challenges
1. I have never finished developing a game before. There is a chance I may be incapable of handling a project of this magnitude.
2. I have never done a Kickstarter before.
3. I am studying to be a computer engineer, so writing and illustration are not my strong suits. I am not an accomplished artist in any capacity. My drawing and painting skills may be lacking.
4. I may have to ask friends for help with the project if it becomes overwhelming, or if I think the project will benefit significantly.
5. New to TyranoBuilder as well.
6. Somewhat low self-esteem.
