The power of STRAWS come from their high density and low moisture content, only 2.5% compared to 20% in kiln dried wood. You wouldn’t add water to a fire but essentially that’s what happens when you burn wood.

Kiln dried wood contains up to 20% water, making it heavier, bulkier and less efficient. When you burn fuel that has a high moisture content it will not burn completely and a residue is left in your flue or chimney.
