I want to design and build a flying electronic bike, a combination of a helicopterdrone and a bicycle, powered by a human and batteries
About this project
I'm planning to create what da vinci wanted to make, except for the fact that the technology is now here... I've come up with this idea when I saw an old guy driving more than 50km/hour on a electric bike, when putting in a battery with more volt and capacity, the old guy could've easily driven 70miles an hour...
I'll be adding safety features to the flying e-bike as well as a height meter, safety features will include something to stabilize, a backup battery that keeps it in the air if anything fails (which shouldn't be possible if everything goes according to plan). Price tag of this project is estimated on 50k as it will require a lot of technology, when the final product is available and tested properly for safety, everything will be reviewed to make this affordable for almost everyone, end price should not be more than double of a normal e-bike.
For the people that do not have any idea of what i have in mind, i am planning to make a combination of a bycicle and a drone/helicopter
Risks and challenges
Height metre shall be installed, backup battery that automatically kicks in when it goes down too fast as well
Dronebike will have to be tested by a certified company when it is ready and before people can come testdrive it
Same as for drones (in belgium) it will first encounter problems with the law, as there is not yet a clear law concerning flying bikes, first tester will have to be an official testpilot. Same as for drones, I'm expecting law will be adjusted and become more clear once government recognizes it as a great invention.
