Yana Peel

Yana Peel, CEO of the Intelligence Squared Group, the global forum for live debate, imported her passion for art and fashion to Hong Kong five years ago when she brought live debates and performance art to Art Basel in Hong Kong (ABHK). Having emigrated from Russia to Canada when she was three, Peel studied at McGill and then London School of Economics. After starting her career at Goldman Sachs, she co-founded the Outset Contemporary Art Fund in 2003, which has since acquired work for over 100 public collections. Recognised in Hong Kong as an elegant fashion icon, Peel also co-chaired Para/Site Art Space, a tiny yet influential Sheung Wan gallery that supports local artists and imports international talent. Peel holds a number of international board and advisory positions, and received the 2010 Montblanc Award for Arts Patronage. She is a mother of two and authored a series of art books for babies benefitting the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
