Wedding Night
Most couples arrive high on adrenaline from the day and desperate to talk over their experiences. Often, they will be hungry and in need of a celebratory drink alone together.
The hotel should be warned that the couple are newly-weds - many places give them special treatment - and whether they will be arriving late. Their luggage, if possible, should have been delivered in advance.
Someone, normally the best man or chief bridesmaid, should arrange for champagne and perhaps flowers to be put in the room.
If the reception is in a hotel, the couple must decide whether to stay at the venue or go somewhere else - they may want time away from other guests and family.
If flying early the next day, the proximity of the hotel to the airport should be considered.
If the bride and groom chose not to change before they left the reception, arrangements must be made for an usher or member of the wedding party to collect their wedding clothes the following day.
