Warren East, CBE

CEO, Rolls-Royce Holdings

Warren East succeeded John Rishton in 2015 to become CEO of power systems manufacturer Rolls-Royce. He was CEO at ARM Holdings, the world’s largest microchip designer, for over a decade, and positioned it at the centre of the smartphone boom, which saw it become one of the UK’s most successful tech exporters. East has outlined plans to cut costs and effect a restructure at Rolls-Royce, the leading manufacturer of passenger jet engines, which has seen weak demand over the past two years. Though he claims to be a Luddite, East is a chartered engineer, and has been named Business Leader of the Year at the National Business Awards and one of the top 30 CEOs to work for. He was appointed CBE in 2014 for services to engineering and technology.
