French-Creole Mass

Rev. Fr. Quesnel Delvard, pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Lake Worth, will offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for those who have been laid to rest at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery and all of the Holy Souls in purgatory. The Mass will be celebrated in French and Creole in honor of Haiti's patron saint, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, whose feast day we celebrate on June 27th.

All are welcome to participate in our diocesan cemetery's first French-Creole Mass.

Prayers during this Memorial Mass will be offered for those who have been laid to rest during the month of May, all of the deceased at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery and all of the Holy Souls in Purgatory.  The tradition of the Month’s Mind dates back to the fifteenth century as a feast of prayerful remembrance for departed souls on or about the thirtieth day of their passing. Though it is still common in Ireland and England, few parishes in the United States continue the custom today. All of the faithful are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Nous sommes tous invitées d’assister à la messe pour tous ceux qui nous ont quittés, spécialement les défunts qui sont enterrés a notre cimitière Notre Dame Reine de la Paix.

La prière pour les défunts est un témoignage de l’affection que nous leur portons. Il y a certes d’autres signes d’affection; les fleurs qui envahissent les cimetières manifestent l’attachement des vivants à ceux qui les ont quittés. Mais l’amour le plus lucide et le plus efficace se traduit par la prière à l’intention de ceux dont nous ne pouvons qu’espérer qu’ils ont découvert Dieu en plénitude.
