New sport: Target Football A safe and fun sport for all ages. Players, coaches, and officials, welcome to best team sport around.
About this project
The idea behind Target Football is fairly straight forward. I have always enjoyed the passion, strategy, and beauty of various popular sports as both a player and a spectator. Target Football is a new sport with aspects of soccer, handball, basketball, Gailic football, and volleyball. It is a non-contact sport, and in my opinion, an ultimate team sport for fun and entertainment. Target does not require special equipment to set up other than some means of marking lines and boundaries on a field.
The point of my plan is to develop instruction videos and even film games - which would be the first ever played - but it takes time and plenty of help to train officials and gather players. I would like to hire a small film crew to help get the best visual presentation possible. Ultimately the plan is to get men and women and youth teams playing in Target tournaments.
There is always room for more sporting activities that minimize the potential for concussion, yet remain exciting. If you love sports and can make it through my rules introduction without burning curiosity to see the game fielded, without envying the first coaches and players to try it out, then team sporting events are probably not your thing. Strange of you if that were the case, but fair enough.
Any profits made from this sport will likely be years down the road. To be realistic, any televised and large fan base Target Football games may come along after we are gone; but that does not reduce my need now to see it played by men and women, boys and girls, and to hope in some way the sport adds something to our collective fitness repertoire.
Furthermore, having a top notch presentation video, and gathering interest, collecting video footage of all kinds involving Target is critical.
Risks and challenges
Since this project is in its initial promotion stage, the only risks to completing this project involve simple logistics. How many volunteers can be summoned at a particular time and place, and how many people involved will have to be paid if there are not enough volunteers? The weather and field locations can also be potential slow downs but will not leave the project stranded by any means.
