Air Quality

Sources of air pollution in the Hawkesbury include emissions from industry, motor vehicles, commercial operations and domestic activities such as fires and use of solid fuel heaters.

Through the application of legislation such as the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 and the Protection of the Environment (Clean Air) Regulation 2010, Council addresses air quality issues ranging from nuisance problems to significant health issues.

Individuals, communities, businesses, industry and Council all play a significant role in protecting local and regional air quality and amenity.
