Hanzade Doğan Boyner is a leading figure in Turkey's online and digital platforms. As a pioneer of e-commerce in Turkey, she founded Hepsiburada.com, the region’s largest online retailer. She is also the founding chairwoman of Turkey’s leading internet holding company, Doğan Online.
In addition to her entrepreneurial accomplishments, Ms. Doğan Boyner has vast experience helming established Turkish media and energy companies. She is currently the chairwoman of Doğan Online and Doğan Gazetecilik, which includes Posta, Turkey’s highest-selling daily newspaper. She also serves as the vice chairwoman of Doğan Burda and Doğan Holding. Previously, Ms. Doğan Boyner was the chairwoman of Petrol Ofisi, Turkey’s second-largest company by revenue.
Ms. Doğan Boyner is actively involved in various nonprofit, business, and trade organizations. She is a founding member and vice chairwoman of Global Relations Forum, a vice president of the World Association of Newspapers, and a member of the board of trustees of the Brookings Institute. She also participates in several think tanks, including the European Council on Foreign Relations, the Foreign Economic Relations Board, the Association of Turkish Businessmen and Industrialists, the Young Presidents’ Organization, and the Association of Woman Entrepreneurs.
A philanthropist, Ms. Doğan Boyner established—and enthusiastically leads—the “Daddy Send Me to School” campaign, which aims to remove economic and cultural barriers to education for young women in Turkey. To date, the campaign has granted 10,500 scholarships and built 33 girls’ dormitories across the country.
Ms. Doğan Boyner has been named “Business Woman of the Year” many times by prominent universities in Turkey, including Bosphorus University, Istanbul Technical University, and Yildiz Technical University.
She is a graduate of the London School of Economics and earned an MBA from Columbia Business School.
