The Struggle To Love Ourselves
The Struggle To Love Ourselves
We know we should love ourselves. We know how important self-love is. We know we’re supposed to love ourselves before we love someone else.

5 Important Things Young People Can Learn From The Elderly
As observed by someone who is now in between young and elderly.
Elderly people tend to care about saving their money, while young people tend to be more wasteful with their money. Elderly people tend to regret not saving more when they were younger. The odds of living to an elderly age are heavily in our favor and the odds of being able to work (or wanting to work) as an elderly person are heavily against us.

Elderly people tend to think about their health every day.

Finding Inner Peace
Our truest self — the part of us that is peace, love, and wisdom, is often not the self that we present to others. It’s not even the self…
we usually identify with. The self we normally identify with is the ego self — the chatter box in our mind that doesn’t want to shut up and has an opinion about everything. The true self is found when the chatter box shuts up.

Turn off the voice in your mind that causes you anxiety — the voice that you use for having conversations with yourself. Turn off the volume and listen for the voice that does not speak in words — the one found in silence.

Why It’s Okay To Question God
Some people believe that any expression of doubt is a sin. They believe that we must always have faith and never waver, never question God…
, and certainly never criticize God, lest he depart from us or punish us for our insolence or lack of faith.
¶
The truth is that God often shows up in those moments. The moments when we are heartbroken, frustrated, or at our wit’s end. Our expression of doubt and frustration about things in our life and about God are expressions of pain and suffering. These are the times when God is sometimes most comforting.

What Is A Lover?
A partner-in-crime (to call in sick and be a bum with on a Monday).
A human pillow, always warm.

Extra fingers to scratch your back.

Silly fights picked for the makeup sex.

“I’m high on you.”
¶
A tolerable annoyance.

You woke up at 3:27 am for this.

The thick skin you could never have grown.
¶
A rock. Your rock.
¶
The only (remotely) exciting thing about your daily routine.
¶
A valid excuse to come out of your shell.
¶
The person you traded the shell for, permanently.
