Call for Papers: Summer Graduate Research Colloquium
Continuing the IHS legacy of supporting classical liberal academics, the Summer Graduate Research Colloquium will allow graduate students to present their research in a conference-style setting to top scholars in their discipline. The colloquium presents a unique opportunity to receive constructive feedback on your paper and presentation with a view toward publication. The Summer Graduate Research Colloquium is open to graduate students pursuing liberty-advancing research in the humanities and social sciences.
The colloquium will take place on July 7-10, 2016 at Towson University in Towson, MD.
Plenary sessions for the colloquium will feature faculty from a variety of disciplines that will be announced closer to the date of the event.
Participation in the Colloquium will be determined upon the submission of an abstract.
Participants will be expected to deliver a conference-style presentation on an original research topic they are currently exploring. Sessions will last for 30-minutes, including Q&A. Papers should address a subject of scholarly significance and further our understanding of the principles which contribute to a more just, peaceful, and prosperous world.
The colloquium will feature topics in philosophy, economics, political science, history, and other related fields in the humanities and social sciences. Papers that use interdisciplinary and mixed methodological approaches are welcome, though not required.
