Nature Cat is a new PBS Kids Series Produced by Spiffy Pictures

The lasted ratings hit for PBS Kids is a series created in Toon Boom Harmony called Nature Cat. Nature Cat's mission is to help kids discover nature and inspire them to get outdoors to develop connections with the natural world. The series follows the adventures of Nature Cat and his friends. In each episode, Nature Cat can't wait to get outside for a day of nature excursions and bravery, but there's one problem: he's a house cat with no instincts for nature. With the help of his animal friends, Nature Cat embarks on action-packed adventures that include exciting missions full of nature investigation, "aha" discovery moments and humor, all while inspiring children to go outside and play.

The series debuted on November 25, 2015 on PBS Kids and launched with daily showings on January 18, 2016.

The Nov. 25 premiere special reached nearly 3.7 million people including 1.7 million kids 2-11. In addition, there have been more than 69 million video streams across all PBS KIDS digital platforms since the series debuted.

Each episode features two 11-minute stories, as well as interstitials. In each 11-minute story, characters model age-appropriate reasoning skills that can be applied to real-world nature exploration. The live-action interstitials build on the show themes, demonstrating a variety of DIY ways to experience nearby nature. Nature Cat has a start-studded voice cast including Chris Parnell and Bobby Moynihan who are both Saturday Night Live alumni.

Nature Cat was created by Spiffy Pictures founded in 2003 by brothers David Rudman ("Cookie Monster" and "Baby Bear" on Sesame Street; "Scooter" and "Janice" on The Muppets) and Adam Rudman, who has written for Tom & Jerry, Sesame Street, Cyberchase and more.
