I was really excited to try this since it has so many positive reviews and seemed like a great value. Well, my excitement turned into frustration when I opened the box. First thing I noticed was how cheap the plastic quality looked and felt. I also smelled a strange odor that made me kind of hesitant to use this pump with drinking water. Now that I think of it, I didn't see anywhere mention if this pump was BPA Free or not! Still, I tried installing it to test it out on my 5 gallon water bottle and it would not fit perfectly. I kept looking at the instructions it came with to see if i did anything wrong, but I followed them completely. It stayed on but it was loose and wobbly, not securely tight. After this, I decided to give up and return this. I was mislead by the reviews. Mostly all reviewers got it for free or reduced price. Now it makes me wonder how many of these reviews are real and legit. I really think this is a cheap knock off that is unsafe. Safe your money and your heatlh and buy something better and BPA-Free.

This is truly the worst product that I have reviewed. I have 5 of these bottles that I rotate through and find it very difficult to lift these large bottles. Recently I had shoulder surgery and was unable to lift and thought this would be a great way to still use my good drinking water. When I opened up the package I was surprised at how poorly this product was manufactured. The plastic is thin, the bladder and spring were crooked making it difficult to fit in the white container and likely to rupture. When I put it together and inserted it into my bottle it was not a tight fit but that was not the problem as it could still be operational. It wasn't! I would pump the blue button on the top to no avail or to very little water. I would have to pump it about 20-30 times to get 8 ounces of water and the blue button would continually get stuck below the white container so you would have to move it again to pop get it to pop up. Unless this is designed with more rugged material I would not recommend purchasing this product.

I received this product at a discounted rate in exchange for my unbiased and honest review.

I received this water pump for a discount to try and review; regardless this is mine and my husbands 100% honest opinion. We marked this down two stars for a couple reasons. First because this pump came in pieces inside the box and we had to put all the pieces together. I knew that there would be some pieces to put on like the tube and spout, but the main pump itself was in pieces and though easy to figure out we shouldn't have to put it all together. The second reason is because of how cheaply made it is. The entire thing is very cheap and weak plastic, even though it currently works we don't know how long it will work for. We thought it would be nice to have for camping, but if the bottle is sitting out in the sun how long until the plastic starts to get brittle and break. So if we do use it for this then we will have to make sure it stays out of the direct sun. Also regardless of home use or camping because the plastic is so weak we are concerned with letting our children use it even though they are 10 and 15, the plastic is so weak a bit of goofing off and they will snap something. So again pretty useless if it is for adults careful use only. Also for how weak the materials are it is currently listed at $15 which seems like a lot for how cheap it is. If it is something you want to use regularly long term or around children look for something better. Otherwise if you want something quick and easy for a party then give it a whirl. It does work, it does pump the water and dispense it. And we were able to fit it on a standard bottle that we bought from a grocery store.

The water pump adapter for plastic jugs is a great idea, but unfortunately, it's made with poor quality materials. The quality of plastic used here is extremely cheap. While it works fine, the longevity of this item is questionable. It's definitely something I would save for emergencies. It isn't something I would use for camping.

The pump includes a couple tubes and a faucet. Everything is made of plastic. Once the tubes have been connected, you put the pump on top of the jug and screw to tighten. By pushing down on the pump, air is injected into the jug, which forces water up the tube and out the faucet.

This is a 3-star item at best. At $15 it's over priced as the quality of materials is poor. This product comes in a retail box and includes instructions.

Note: I was offered this product for my honest and unbiased review. Products are judged on construction, quality, value, what they do, and how well they do it. If it's an excellent product, it will get an excellent review. If it's crap, it will get a low rating and I'll explain why.

If I could review this with 0 stars, I would. It is the WORST execution on a simple design I have ever experienced. I have used a number of these type of 5 gallon pumps over the years. It is a pretty basic design. This product is just plain crap!!! It literally took 4 hands to get this pump at all, and then it only barely pumped the water. No seal, the pumper gets stuck inside the housing, poor quality.
DO NOT BUY!
