Phoebe Prince’s tragic suicide and the subsequent crackdown on bullies was the Herald’s top story of 2010.

It was the year of the politician in Massachusetts — the good, the bad and the ugly.

In 2010, we saw a landslide U.S. Senate victory by an upstart candidate, federal corruption convictions for two Boston pols and the explosion of a patronage scandal in the Massachusetts Probation Department.

But amid the attack ads and surprise polls, no story touched more lives than the tragic loss of a beautiful, young Irish teen named Phoebe, whose death permanently changed high schools for the better around the world.
