I think it's a mixture of pure embarrassment about just what a total failure the project was, as well as vastly overestimating his level of motivation to deliver the perks if it tanked.

I mean just have a look at what he was promising even for low donations. Shit like signed postcards, commentary files, t-shirts, bumper stickers, retweets etc. I'm not saying any of it is that valuable but that shit would be annoying as fuck to keep track of even if the project was a big success, nevermind if it's something that you're completely embarrassed by and just want to forget ever happened.

I'm so out of the loop on this subject. I love Jimmy but I saw the trailer for his cartoon show and it was so bad I didn't donate and I never read anything more about it. What's going on with it? Is he making new episodes? Did he give a timeline for it? Why are people angry about it?

In a nutshell - the feedback for the trailer was terrible as soon as he put it out, with most people rightfully letting him know what a total piece of shit it was. He even acknowledged this in the comments at the time and basically admitted it didn't work yet still continued to raise money for it. That was 4 months ago.

He released one sub-5 minute episode shortly after the teaser and I think a teaser for a second episode that never materialised. Basically he put out about 5 minutes worth of flash cartoon that someone in India would make for $5 and charged $60,000+ grand for it. He also promised people perks for donating, which to be honest I have no idea if they were delivered. Whatever the case he's been extremely evasive and wormy about the whole subject ever since. Blocking people on Twitter for even mentioning it now.

PS I don't think anyone on this sub is actually mad about it. It's just hilarious to keep making Jimmy accountable for it when he clearly wants it to just be forgotten completely and is extremely embarrassed by the whole thing.

As the worm has learned - quietly trying to steal $60k from your fans isn't something a sub as autistic as this is gonna let go without a fuss.
