Frank White, Jr.

Founder & CEO

Frank White, Jr.Mr. White is the Founder and CEO of DuSable Capital Management and oversees all investments, investor relations, and operations at DuSable. Prior to founding DuSable, Mr. White founded and served as Chairman and CEO of Advanced Concepts, Inc. Under his leadership, the technology company evolved into a leading supplier of engineering and information technology support services to the Federal Government, primarily within the U.S. Intelligence Community.

ACI ranked amongst the Mid-Atlantic’s Top 100 Fastest Growing Businesses for eight-consecutive years. With approximately 400 employees, ACI was ultimately acquired and is now part of BAE Systems, a multi billion dollar international defense company. Mr. White has previously been recognized as a finalist for the Ernst & Young Maryland Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Mr. White was the National Vice-Chair of President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign and served as a Co-Chair for President Obama’s 2013 Inauguration Committee as well.

Mr. White earned his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and a MS in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University.

Mr. White also completed the Executive Education Program at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.


Shomik Dutta

Managing Director

Shomik DuttaMr. Dutta is the Managing Director of DuSable Capital Management. Mr. Dutta is responsible for sourcing new investment opportunities, managing the investment portfolio, and overseeing investor relations. Before co-founding DuSable, Mr. Dutta worked in investment banking at Morgan Stanley and at the Rock Creek Group hedge fund. Mr. Dutta has also served as a longtime staffer to President Obama.

From 2011 – 2012, Mr. Dutta served as the National Finance Consultant to President Obama’s re-election campaign. Earlier in his career, Mr. Dutta served as the Special Advisor to the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission and as a special assistant in President Obama’s White House. Prior to joining the Obama Administration, Mr. Dutta served on the Presidential Transition Team and served as Mid-Atlantic Finance Director for President Obama’s historic 2008 election. Mr. Dutta is a veteran staffer of several statewide Democratic campaigns, including Martin O’Malley’s successful gubernatorial campaign in Maryland and several U.S. Senate Campaigns. Mr. Dutta currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of RePublic Charter Schools, a Charter Management Organization devoted to providing high-quality education to students in the Deep South.

Mr. Dutta earned an MBA from The Wharton School of Business and a BA from Williams College.


John Guthrie

Chief Operating Officer, Chief Compliance Officer & Chief Financial Officer (CPA)

John GuthrieMr. Guthrie is DuSable’s COO, CFO and CCO. Prior to joining DuSable in 2013, Mr. Guthrie gained extensive executive experience in both finance and operations with companies ranging from the startup stage to US$200 million in revenues.

Mr. Guthrie’s experience also includes stints as a COO of a private equity/wealth management company and the CFO of a private company that took on private equity investment funding, as well as acting as an investment representative on behalf of limited partners in private equity funds. In addition, he has international financial management experiences in manufacturing and distribution and has managed multiple corporate transactions from both the buy and sell sides.

He started his career with Deloitte & Touche. Mr. Guthrie’s educational background includes earning both a BA in 1979 and MBA in 1984 from Loyola University (Baltimore). Mr. Guthrie is a Certified Public Accountant.

Emmanuel Guyot

Senior Vice President

Emmanuel GuyotEmmanuel Guyot is a Senior Vice President at DuSable Capital, where he is responsible for managing existing renewable energy investments and sourcing new investment opportunities. Prior to joining DuSable, Mr. Guyot worked at Conergy where he was responsible for solar project development and finance in the Asian Pacific, Middle East, and North and South America.

Mr. Guyot started his career at Electricité de France (EDF) and then worked for the leading French engineering company, B.C.E.O.M., on global energy and environmental policy reform as Director of the Energy Department. Following this experience, Mr. Guyot joined Theolia and Ecolutions to develop wind, biomass and solar plants in North Africa, India and China.

Mr. Guyot holds a Master’s Degree in Project Engineering and Finance (M2) from Paris Dauphine University and an executive MBA from INSEAD and Tsinghua University, Beijing. Mr. Guyot is based in Singapore.


Brandon Hurlbut

Advisor

Brandon HurlbutMr. Hurlbut is an Advisor to DuSable Capital Management. Mr. Hurlbut most recently served as the Chief of Staff to the US Department of Energy. In this capacity, Mr. Hurlbut managed the Department of Energy’s principal initiatives and oversaw day-to-day operations for this $27 billion federal agency with a 115,000 workforce.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Hurlbut served as the Deputy Director of Cabinet Affairs at the White House and as a Senior Personnel Staff member for the Obama-Biden Transition project. Prior to joining the Administration, Mr. Hurlbut worked as a senior political staffer on President Obama’s 2008 campaign. Prior to the campaign, Mr. Hurlbut worked as a corporate attorney in Washington, DC at Baker & Daniels LLP. Mr. Hurlbut is the veteran of several Democratic campaigns, including citywide, statewide, and Presidential campaigns.

Mr. Hurlbut received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A. from University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
