Beach Channel Drive Eastbound Lane, Breezy Point Exit Ramp of Marine Parkway Bridge to Close Through April for Ramp Improvement Project
Q35 Stop at Base of Bridge Also Temporarily Relocated During Work

Starting on Monday, March 14, 2016, MTA Bridges and Tunnels will close one eastbound lane on Beach Channel Drive from the Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge and the Breezy Point exit ramp to accommodate work on the roadway and shoulder of the ramp. This lane heading east from the Marine Parkway Bridge to the area before the Jacob Riis Pedestrian Bridge will be closed around-the-clock through the end of April.

The work to improve the ramp involves replacing the concrete roadway and shoulder from the ramp approximately half a mile eastward along Beach Channel Drive. To accommodate the construction, one Rockaway Park-bound Q35 stop will be temporarily relocated from its current location at the base of the bridge to Beach Channel Drive at the foot of the Jacob Riis Pedestrian Bridge. The bus stop relocation is in effect from the start of construction on Monday morning until the completion of work. Signs will be in place alerting bus customers to the temporary relocation and instructions on the Q22 transfer at Beach 169th Street.

The Brooklyn-bound Q35 stop on Beach 169th Street at Rockaway Point Boulevard will not be affected.

Signage will also be in place to direct motorists to a detour route for the Breezy Point exit ramp closure.
