Max was first selected for the men’s senior team as travelling reserve for the 2011 World Championships in Tokyo having taken three medals at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi (India). In 2012 Max went on to form part of the European Championships gold medal winning team and at the Olympic Games took team and pommel horse bronze medals. In 2013 he became an English and British all-around champion and European all-around silver, floor gold and pommel horse bronze medal winner. He then went on to take silver on pommel and 4th all-around at the 2013 World Championships. In 2014 Max again won the British all-around title and then European pommel gold before taking Commonwealth all-around, floor and team gold and World Championship all-around silver. In 2015 he won World Championships team silver, floor silver and became pommel horse World champion!
