US Women’s Basketball — See Pics Of The Stars Going For The Gold

Can any country beat America’s dream team? With Carmelo Anthony, 32, leading Kevin Durant, 27, Draymond Green, 26, Klay Thompson, 26, and other players who aren’t Golden State Warriors, the Americans are expected to positively dominate the tournament. Could Melo get his fourth Olympic medal (and possibly his third gold?)

Venezuela comes into the Rio 2016 games as the 2016 FIB Americas Champions, and this is the first time the team has qualified for the Olympic games since 1992, per SB Nation. They managed to win the tournament after suffering losses to Canada, Mexico, Uruguay and Argentina in the group stage, but they somehow clawed their way to the gold medal.

Despite this apparent run of success, the team is not expected to go far in Rio. Venezuelan player Greivis Vasquez, 29, of the Brooklyn Nets is out and the remaining squad has a very poor record on the world stage. The last time they made it to the FIBA World Championship was ten years ago in 2006, where they finished 23 out of 24. Will they have better success in Rio 2016, or will this meeting with the Dream Team turn out to be a nightmare?

Who do you think will win this game, HollywoodLifers? Will USA dominate or will Venezuela be the Cinderella story of the 2016 Olympics?
