Jimmy Jackson helped Arsenal gain promotion to Division One for the very first time.
The left back joined from Newcastle United in May 1899 before playing 204 times in six years.
Jackson made his debut in a 2-0 defeat to Leicester Fosse on the opening day of the 1899/1900 campaign and was a regular throughout his whole Arsenal career.
During his spell with the Club he owned a sports outfitters shop just outside the Manor Ground.
He played a prominent role in the Gunners' promotion-winning campaign of 1903/04 and captained the team in its maiden division in the top flight.
Jackson left Arsenal to become player-manager at Leyton in summer 1905 before enjoying spells with West Ham and former club Rangers.
His son, Reverend James Jackson, was a player and captain of Liverpool.
