NCAA OFFICIALS EDUCATION AND REGISTRATION PROGRAM

The NCAA has begun, effective September 1, 2015, a new officiating program designed to educate and register Swimming & Diving Officials.  This program, in conjunction with USA Swimming, will provide all the necessary resources for our Swimming & Diving officials during the course of the competitive season.  Please check back often for updates and information and scroll down for Important Dates and NCAA Resources.

Any official who applies to officiate at the NCAA Championships (all 3 Divisions) will be required to register as an NCAA official and pass the NCAA rules test with a score of 85% or better.  It is being recommended to NCAA member institutions and conferences that they utilize NCAA registered officials beginning with the 2015-16 season.  There is no limitation between attempts at passing this test, if an applicant did not achieve the minimum passing score. The test is based upon the NCAA playing rules that are effective as of September 1, 2015.

BECOMING REGISTERED:

You will need to take and pass a test in order to be registered as an NCAA official. The test you take will depend on your current status. See the options below to determine your status and then scroll down to see the directions for taking an online test.

Current USA Swimming Officials

Log in to your USA Swimming website account and navigate to "Choose a Test to Start" below. Select the NCAA SUPPLEMENTAL Swimming and Diving Rules test and proceed with taking the test. Once passed, you will also be registered as an NCAA Swimming Official.

BRAND NEW OFFICIALS SEEKING USA SWIMMING CERTIFICATION AND NCAA REGISTRATION

For those new officials who wish to be registered as both a USA Swimming and an NCAA Official: you will need to take tests on both USA Swimming and NCAA Swimming and Diving Rules. First, take the USA Swimming test required by your Local Swimming Committee (usually Certification - Stroke and Turn/Timer) and then take the full "NCAA Swimming and Diving Rules" test (not the supplemental one).

Note: passing these two tests will allow for your NCAA registered official status. For your USA Swimming certification, you will need to register as a nonathlete member of USA Swimming and follow the requirements of your Local Swimming Committee for certification.

NCAA Swimming and Diving Official Registration Only (no USA Swimming certification)

You will take the full "NCAA Swimming and Diving Rules" test. Select this test from the test selection.
