What gave the “Tiramisu” its name?

Contrary to popular belief of the translation of “Pull me up”, the name originates from its inventor, the confectioner Roberto Linguanotto. He owned a restaurant “Le Beccherie” in Treviso where he had his god-daughter as an apprentice named Francesca Valori. In honour of her culinary skills he named the today world-famous dessert after her maiden name, Francesca Valori-Tiramisu. Of course this sweet delight cannot miss in any Italian-touched restaurant and hence is available at Ticino in a homemade version.

Fredi and Tibor came through with the correct answer; a spaghetti dinner for two is theirs to be enjoyed before End of September. Congratulations! All the others might want to dig into the next quiz question on the right hand side of this screen. Good luck and see you then!
