Security Policy

We place paramount importance on security. We use highly secure systems to ensure that the personal information you provide us with whilst using our Website (such as your login details or other personal details) remains fully protected.

Your access to Our Website and Service

Passwords are stored on our servers using one way encryption systems. We use SHA512 (Secure Hash Algorithm) – which is a cryptographic hashing algorithm that is designed to be completely secure.

Your login and passwords to the Supermarkets

Every time you import your favourites from a retailer, book a delivery slot or send through a basket, we will ask you to enter your login details for that retailer (usually email and password). We can save your supermarket  account password access details for future use, making your shop easier next time. We do not use these details for any other purposes other than what is clearly stated in our Privacy Policy.

Transmission of Secure Data

We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt your details whilst they travel from your computer to our system. This ensures your information is kept private. This security is the same when shopping with mySupermarket or using mySupermarket SHOPS.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our Site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

How can I check my details are secure?

Every time you fill out personal or payment details on our Website, your browser is switched to secure mode, to encrypt the information that you send to us. To verify that you are in a secure part of our Website, a closed padlock will show in the address bar. Secure website addresses often begin with the prefix “https”.

Credit Card Information

mySupermarket does not receive or store any credit card information. Shopping that you do with a third party retailer is completed and paid for on their own website. When you complete a shop through mySupermarket SHOPS, your credit card details are collected and processed by Stripe, a third party payment processor. Neither mySupermarket nor the SHOPS merchant you are purchasing from receive or have any access to your credit card details.  If you elect to have mySupermarket store your credit card details for use in future purchases via SHOPS, that information will be held by Stripe, and not by mySupermarket.

For Merchants: You need to enter credit card details when setting up a shop, but no mySupermarket employee, including your Account Manager, can see them. You can see your own details and the information is held with Stripe.

For more information on how and when your payment information is stored, please see our Privacy Policy.  For information on how to manage your credit card information on file, please see our FAQs.  For more information on how Stripe manages your payment details, please see Stripes privacy and security policies.

For information about a particular retailer, please visit their website. A list of links can be found here.

Protecting your own security

We will never ask you to enter your account details, password or credit card details into an email. We strongly advise that you never enter your account number or password or credit card details into an email or after following a link from an email.
