‘Kalu Thushara’ shot dead

Well known underworld kingpin ‘Kalu Thushara’ was shot dead during a confrontation with the police at Grandpass this morning, police media spokesman Prishantha Jayakody said.

He possessed a T56 assault rifle and a 90mm pistol at the time of the raid. Two of his associates managed to escape from police during the raid carried out by the Grandpass police.

One was arrested by the police and currently investigating to arrest the other suspect, SP Jayakody said. (Supun Dias)
