Devonport Strikers are progressing to the FFA Cup Round of 32. This is, according to head coach Chris McKenna, the biggest achievement in the history of the club as it puts them on the national stage.

On June 13^th, Devonport Strikers defeated South Hobart 1-0 in the final to be crowned Lakoseljac Cup Champions for 2016. The winner of the Lakoseljac Cup becomes Tasmania’s entrant in the Westfield FFA Cup, a competition that is now in its third year of existence, which is supported by Fox Sports.

In 2016, there was a total of 704 club teams entered in the various competitions nationwide, with the goal of making it to The FFA Cup Round of 32. The 32 clubs are made up of all ten A-League clubs, the 2015 National Premier League Champions and 21 other Member Federation clubs, of which Devonport Strikers are now one.
