Using a traditional pan is hard. It takes experience to master and is slow and painful. This pain drove me to invent the Gold Claw pan.
With the Gold Claw pan you can get out of the house! Go to nature, spice up that typical camp out or hike with a gold adventure that will produce lifetime memories.
Gold panning has been around for over a millennia, dating back beyond the ancient Egyptians. In all that time not much has changed. The old style of panning requires a lot of technique, tons of training, and is difficult to learn. Unless you are an expert it is very easy to have the gold in the pan and lose it without even knowing it was there!
There are features that keep the gold in the pan, in an old style pan these features are inside the pan deep under the material. It takes years of experience to keep the gold at the bottom of the pan to prevent it from being washed out.
The Gold Claw pan has improved features engineered into the outer edge of the pan. This ensures every particle interacts with and is caught by these gold grabbing features. All you do is shake the material in a thin layer out of the pan until all that remains is gold. My 7 year old first time panning neighbor can out pan a pro, so can you. Go get some gold!
When designing machines I immersed myself in the physical and chemical properties of gold. I found that dynamics at and below the surface push gold up and carry gold out of the pan. I learned how to eliminate all the gotchas in a machine. One day it hit me, I could also eliminate them in a gold pan. This lead to the creation of the Gold Claw, a quick and easy way to pan for gold.
The Gold Claw is so easy to use, watch the 7 year old's sister get to the gold in 20 seconds her first time panning.
With the Gold Claw, you can now easily pan for gold with all of your friends and family regardless of their age or experience.
From the young child to the experienced prospector, this gold pan brings the world of gold to everyone.
It's light weight and easy to carry.
You can take it with you any where.
To pan you first shake the material to create liquefaction, in this state the material begins to form layers by weight, the lighter sands work their way up and the gold flakes work their way down.
With the Gold Claw pan everything happens safely under water to eliminate gold floating away and high tech ridges are at the surface of the pan to capture the gold as you shake out the sand slowly layer by layer.
I honestly thought that as mature as the gold pan is that all good inventions for gold pans had been thought of. It turns out through modern technology we found more major breakthroughs.
In the past panning for gold was more technique than science.
Now with Gold Claw, panning is more science than technique.

Through material science we were able to use the physics behind panning to create a solution that captures the gold within it's high tech ridges without the hours and years of technique required in the past.
The Gold Claw tooling is designed, and on schedule to begin producing by the end of this campaign so we can immediately start shipping your pans.
The pans will be made of Tritan, a material known for being indestructible in the outdoor market.
The Transparent Gold Pan - My Personal Favorite
I love the Green pan, it looks so good in the river and on video, you can easily see the gold. One day someone exclaimed, "I want a see thru pan to see what is going on inside!" So I made one. I have to admit, I have fallen in love with it. You can easily see the gold, you can see what your black sands are doing inside. You can see through to the river. Its cool.
I highly recommend the green pan but if some of you want to have a transparent Gold Claw pan, just specify transparent in our survey after the campaign is over when you finalize your order.

We are proud that we have chosen to produce the Gold Claw in the USA. From start to finish the Gold Claw is American made.
Risks and challenges
The risks on this project are low: it's all about the tooling. We are making an injection mold, mold-making is a mature technology and we have decades of injection molding experience.
We are scheduled to have the tooling cut early in September. There is generally two weeks of fine tuning followed by a week of pilot run, thus we could start shipping in October. Sometimes to produce a quality part the fine tuning may risk taking longer than two weeks. We will keep everyone informed as we move through the process.
