I knew where every place her professor wanted to know was, and also pointed out that its not "Constantinople" but "Istanbul".

I assume its because in general, most people can't handle the spice of even habaneros. When you go to the ghost pepper, people would actually cry.

Because of that, the best way to market them would be in the way of "This hot sauce shouldn't exist, its insane, its fun and whacky, its the Butt-ruptor!"

Here's a link the the old kickstarter, Pollo Diablo Hot Sauce. It was a premium hot sauce from Portugal. Medium heat from piri piri peppers.

I don't have the website for it up anymore, or really actively sell it besides an ebay. Profit margins were too low with shipping from Portugal, at least in the quantities I was ordering.

However, brighter side. I got to meet some really cool people from /r/spicy during the Long Beach Hot Sauce expo, and it was probably the best entrepreneur education in the world.

I used to import a hot sauce from Portugal to sell in the states. I couldn't get it into a lot of big hot sauce specialty shops... because my hot sauce's name was NOT something like Ass Blaster or Ass Reaper.

At one shop, the lady actually picked up a bottle of Ass Reaper, showed it to me and said "This is what sells, your hot sauce needs to be something like this". It was a bit crushing.

A few places helped (Obligatory shout out to Dylan at Heat Hot Sauce!), but right now the market is demanding novelty names.
