O'Callaghan to take Houghton Mifflin role
Barry O'Callaghan, chairman of textbook publisher Education Media and Publishing Group (EMPG), is to take up the position of chief executive at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.
He will assume the position later this month following the retirement of Anthony Lucki, chief executive of the educational and trade publisher.
EMPG bought Houghton Mifflin three years ago and Harcourt the following year.
Last month, Education Media said that after entertaining several bids for the trade and reference division of Houghton Mifflin, it would not be selling it.
Education Media is currently shouldering about $7bn in debt. …
