It was just over a year ago when Daniel Craig was asked whether or not he’d be up for another outing as James Bond, and he answered quite colorfully, “I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists.” Since then, talk has stormed around a possible replacement for the actor to play 007, and Craig has remained committed to signing up for anything else, currently shooting Steven Soderbergh‘s “Logan Lucky,” and slated for twenty episodes of Todd Field‘s “Purity” next year.

John Oliver Blasts Donald Trump, Billy Bush for Lewd Remarks

23 minutes ago | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

John Oliver has a thing or two to say about the now infamous 2005 tape featuring Donald Trump and Billy Bush’s lewd conversation about women.

The “Last Week Tonight” host spent a majority of the first segment of his show on Sunday slamming both Trump and Bush for their comments in the leaked video, in which Trump refers to grabbing women “by the p—y.”

“Yes, that is audio of Donald Trump in 2005 telling a giggling Billy Bush that one of the perks of fame is that he can grab women’s genitalia without permission,” Oliver said.

Oliver went on to say that though he thought Trump couldn’t possibly sink any lower, Trump surpassed Oliver’s expectations through the release of the tape.

“Let me just remind you that last Sunday, I told you if you looked above the clouds, you would see rock bottom,” recalled Oliver. “But if you look up there now, which »

Stephen Colbert Plans to Conquer the Social Web

28 minutes ago | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

In a different era, Stephen Colbert might have been kicking himself: On Thursday, he and his “Late Show” team taped an episode to be broadcast on CBS the next night, a move that should have left him unable to comment on one of the craziest episodes ever to surface in the race for the White House.

Yet just as the nation was looking for pundits to weigh in on a 2005 “Access Hollywood” outtake showing Donald Trump talking to host Billy Bush about sexually harassing women, there was Colbert – on Twitter. From his home, Colbert explained the situation to followers and invited them to watch him as he watched the tape. As Trump talked to Bush about grabbing women’s genitals and popping breath mints so he could kiss attractive celebrities, Colbert put his head in his hand. “All the Tic-Tacs in the world will not freshen his breath after this,” the »

Woodley, who has been vocal about the pipeline, posted a video on Facebook Live streaming the incident. The two-hour video takes a turn near the end, when police begin to get involved. At one point, an unidentified officer could be seen telling Woodley, “We can’t talk right here, but you’re going to be placed under arrest for criminal trespassing.”

“But I have one question: Why am I being arrested and no one else is who is down there, is my question,” she asked the officer. “Is it because I’m famous? Is it because people know me?”

Another official can be heard telling Woodley, “It’s because you trespassed on the property.” “So did hundreds of people,” she replied. “We were all down there. »

You won’t believe who’s directing Disney’s live-action ‘Aladdin’ prequel

56 minutes ago | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Another day. Another update on Disney’s dozen or so remakes/reboots/reimaginings/rewhatevers of their animated classics. But today’s update is one that’s certainly on the unexpected side. Guy Ritchie is in negotiations to direct the Disney’s live-action Aladdin prequel, first announced with the title Genies last year. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ritchie has been brought on to helm “an ambitious and non-traditional take on Aladdin.” Well, ‘non-traditional’ seems to be something we can count on when it’s a Disney-Guy Richie pairing. I’m trying to picture what a Guy Ritchie-directed Disney movie would look like — a musical(ish?), no less. THR is also saying the film “will keep many of the musical elements of the original,” though whether that means the songs from the 1992 movie will make an appearance is unclear — and my brain can’t quite reconcile the divisive, stylized director »

The Effects Team Of ‘Westworld’ Reveals What It Takes To Create A Host

1 hour ago | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

HBO is now two episodes deep into Westworld, and we’ve not yet begun to scratch the layers of this world. As our Alan Sepinwall said, HBO has thrown viewers into the deep end. With little to no hand-holding, it’s up to the audience to suss out the cracks in the machine. So far, Westworld has shown us the theme park itself, the entry point for guests, the living quarters of the employees, and the production facilities for the hosts. Perhaps the most mysterious part is what exactly the hosts are. In Episode Two, “Chestnut,” two surgical engineers working on host Maeve (Thandie Newton) lament she’s contracted Mrsa from a guest. For those lucky enough to know what that is, Mrsa is a highly antibiotic-resistant strain of staph bacteria that literally eats abscesses into their host. Do not Google image search. Don’t do it. But how does »
