Hawthorn triple-premiership midfielder Bradley Hill has got his wish and will play alongside brother Stephen at Fremantle next season.

The Dockers traded draft pick No.23 to the Hawks in a straight swap for the 23-year-old speedster.

The port club had received that pick as compensation for losing free agent Chris Mayne, who joined Collingwood yesterday.

Fremantle list manager Brad Lloyd was delighted to add a player of Hill’s calibre to the list.

“At 23 years of age, Bradley is an experienced premiership player with elite running and skill level,” Lloyd said.

“We believe he will be a valuable acquisition to our playing list and be a long-term player for Fremantle.

“Bradley is really excited about returning home to WA and will relish the opportunity to play with Stephen.”

Hill played 95 games for Hawthorn and featured in a hat-trick of flags from 2013-15.

He left the Hawks on good terms.

"Bradley informed the club he had a strong desire to return to Western Australia and play with his brother at Fremantle," Hawks list manager Graham Wright said.

"We have worked closely with his management and Fremantle to facilitate a deal that we feel benefits everyone involved.

"He has been a great servant to this club and leaves a triple-premiership player.

"We would like to thank Bradley for his contribution to the Hawthorn Football Club and wish him all the best in the future."

Fremantle have been one of the more active clubs during this year’s trade period, having already secured long-time target Cam McCarthy from Greater Western Sydney.

Their attention will now turn towards sewing up deals for Geelong forward Shane Kersten and Western Bulldogs premiership defender Joel Hamling.

Both are WA products.
