Lyon or Haney Cemetery, Yell County, Arkansas

Updated directions! This cemetery is 5 miles west of Dardanelle on Hwy. 27 then 1/2 mile south on county road 44. It is on the right at the intersection of county road 44 and country road 45. The land for this cemetery was given by William G. Lyon. His will dated 19th of August 1895 States "I do grant and bequeath and give to the neighborhood two acres of land for a graveyard in the Northeast corner of the south half of Southwest 40. In the southeast quarter section 9, township 6, range 21 west. This two acres of land shall begin at the northeast corner and shall be measured west far enough to include my wife's grave by at least six feet. I do ensure 32 feet north 32 feet south measuring 32 feet east. This Plat of ground 64 feet, north and south and is ensured for my special burial lot, This measurement shall begin six feet west from my wife's head stone."

Sarah (Campbell) Lyon was born 16 Aug 1830, died 13 Apr 1894. The first grave in the cemetery.
