Tanzanian international striker Mrisho Ngassa has joined Oman side Fanja SC on a two year deal after the 27-year-old terminated his four year deal with South African side Free State Stars three weeks ago with the Oman deal in the pipeline.

According to the former Yanga SC forward, he has opened a new chapter in his career and looks forward to the new challenge accompanied with his stay in Oman.

New challenge

“I thank God for signing a contract with Fanja. This is a new challenge to me. I believe I am here I am because of God’s plans and hence ready to face the kind of challenges awaiting me,” he told Bin Zubeiry.

He has previously played for Toto Africans from Mwanza, Bukoba’s Kagera Sugar, Yanga SC, Azam FC and Simba. Ngassa joined Free State Stars by then under the tutelage of Malawian coach Kinnah Phiri who left the club barely two months into the job.

He had to work with four different coaches including the current one, French Denis Lavagne who seemed to have left Ngassa out of his plans for the 2016/17 season hence the player deciding to cut his stay in Bethlehem, South Africa.

AFC Champions League

Fanja, based in Seeb is representing the country in the Asian Champions League. The team hosts its home matches at the 14,000-capacity Al-Seeb Stadium.
