Current construction techniques in Rojava use mainly concrete and metal. Two very expensive materials that are imported and aren't ecological. These materials also get very hot in the summer.
The materials and the plan of houses (tall apartment blocks) doesn't suit the geography of Rojava. Heat travels upwards in tall buildings, which again get very hot in the summer.
There is an alternative known as earthbag or superadobe. This technique builds off old middle-eastern construction methods which are still used in villages in Rojava, improving them with modern technology. We can pioneer this construction method in Rojava. Labour is cheap here, and the current construction techniques and building plans are inadequate (unecological, expensive, hot). With some real examples, instructional courses and education materials in Kurdish/Arabic, this knowledge can pass to local hands and revive the traditional forms of living.
