Rob Edwards says Marcus Holness and Jake Kirby will have their fitness assessed ahead of Saturday's away game against Shrewsbury Town.
The pair missed Tuesday night's Capital One Cup tie against Nottingham Forest due to injury after starting the opening game of the season against York City.
The Manager told
Tranmere Player: "Marcus hurt himself on Saturday and we'll look at that this morning.
"Jake Kirby had a strange back injury, a swollen back and he wasn't available on Tuesday because of that. He's going to train today as well so we'll keep our fingers crossed.
"Liam Ridehalgh is still a bit away. He was in yesterday working hard and he's a determined lad who will come back no problem."
