FAQs

What can I expect at my first visit?

The first visit which takes about two hours, is a chance for me to get to know you; to listen closely to your current health concerns and goals as well as your past medical history.  You will have ample time to ask questions and share anything you feel is pertinent to your overall health.  I take two days after the initial visit to fully review all the information you have given me and create a customized treatment plan.  Your treatment plan may include an order for labwork, herbs and nutritional supplements, diet and lifestyle recommendations and/or a homeopathic remedy.  I may also make recommendations for other treatment such as acupuncture, massage or chiropractic.

What should I bring to my first visit?

Please bring a copy of any recent blood work, other lab work or imaging for review at your first visit.  A list of current medications and supplements with dosage is also helpful.

Do you bill insurance?

I do not bill insurance directly but I can provide you with an invoice to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Many insurance companies cover licensed Naturopathic Doctors and are happy to reimburse their clients directly.  Please contact your insurance company to find out if they cover Naturopathic doctors.  I do accept payment from health savings accounts.

What is your payment and cancellation policy?

  • For in-person visits payment is due at the time of the visit by cash, check or credit card.
  • For online Skype visits payment is due 24 hours before the scheduled time of the visit.
  • If appointments are cancelled less than 24 hours in advance the visit will be billed at 30% of the total.  Bills for cancellations are sent via email and are due upon receipt.

What is a homeopathic remedy and how does it work?

Homeopathic remedies are very dilute, energetic medicines made from plant, animal and mineral substances.  The original substance is diluted over and over again in water.  Between each dilution the medicine is succussed, or shaken vigorously, allowing the water to absorb the deep energetic properties of the original substance.  The remedy works by stimulating the body’s vital force, or energy body, to bring about a deep and gentle healing process from the inside out.  Healing occurs on every level – mental, emotional and physical.

Is Homeopathy safe?

Yes, homeopathy is incredibly safe and gentle.  It can be used with pregnant women, children and the elderly and will not interfere with herbal or pharmaceutical medicine.

How much does a homeopathic remedy cost?

A single dose of a homeopathic remedy costs $6 and a multi-dose remedy in liquid costs between $10 and $15.  The type of remedy given depends on the individual patient.  You can expect to spend no more than $15 monthly.

How often do I need to schedule follow up appointments?

Follow up appointments are scheduled at 4 to 6 week intervals until your condition stabilizes.  At that point they are scheduled as needed to maintain your newly found state of health.
