IndyBank v2.4a

by Indestructible & Havokk & Kir

Version: 2.4aAdded: 2009-04-24Last Edited: 2013-10-10File Size: 1.35 MBDownloads: 214

Description:

This version of the Bank mod (original Readme below) uses NPC dialog interface instead of messageboxes. Thus a single clerk can perform all operations and no big staff is needed. Originally I started this upgrade after reading the forum thread where someone mentioned that the bank staff is too big for some cities. In fact, existing banks are more or less of adequate size (and, quoting Indestructible, "I liked the atmosphere of multiple employees in the bank, so I didn't bother"). Nevertheless, if someone will decide to add banks to smaller cities, this is the way to make them low-staff.

Features
========

1. Ability to put money to the bank. Interest rate depends on your bank account.

2. Ability to take loans either from bank or from Thieves Guild's "Loan Sharks". If you miss your payment, you eventually get hunted.

3. Eight houses to purchase, with teleport rings.

4. Letters of credit for 10,000, 20,000, 50,000, or 100,000 gold that you can take in the bank and cash at most traders' and enchanters' shops. The letter costs 101% of it's value, so to take 10,000 gold letter you must have on your account no less than 10,100 gold

5. Two optional versions - No-Houses and compatible with Walled City of Balmora mod. (No-Houses is still reported to conflict with Illuminated Order, but I don't have this mod yet. There's a version of the Bank on Euro by someone that supposedly fixes that).

6. Optional GoldWeight plugin that makes your money weigh 1 lbs. per 100 gp, and also gives it "gold" look. Known issues with it:

- If you add this plugin in the middle of an existing game, drop all your gold to the ground before making a save to which you'll apply the plug. Otherwise the weight of your current gold will not be added to the total encumbrance.

- If you use any plugin adding gold to traders (Zed the Merchant, Creeper's Gold, Richer Merchants etc.), don't buy/sell goods for more than 30,000 gold at a time. Otherwise the weight of gold will be calculated incorrectly. You *can* carry more gold, just don't make deals too big.

If it gives you trouble that you can't resolve, you may use an alternate GoldWeight plugin by VenomByte (can get it from Summit)

27/FEB/2013 - Fixed title, authors, version, description, and mirror. This is an old version. Special Note: This version includes goldweight which the author says is bugged. Here is the quote from later copies of the same version Readme: "17/11/2005: repackaged - GoldWeight removed; no changes in main esp's. Versions uploaded at MWSource and Elric's still have it, though." The Nexus copy of this verion do not have goldweight. There is also now a non-goldweight copy here on MMH Courtesy of the wayback machine from the author's page. - Spirithawke
